Alright I have a stupid question: I had a custom car shop install my headunit in the jeep - so I don't know much about the install - and it no longer sits flush against the plastic dash piece. How do i go about removing the plastic faceplate (that covers the radio, climate controls and plug)? I've already removed the screw from the bottom part by the outlet. Thanks |

If you've removed the ashtray and the bottom screw the rest should be clipped in and you should be able to pull it out or pry it out (carefully). I think it comes out bottom first and goes back in top first. |

He has an 05 so it doesnt have an asytray, just so you know. All you do auggy is take that screw out like you have done and pull from the bottom and it should pop off. Its not that hard and pops back on purty easily too. The radio is held on with 4 screws and are kinda hard to get to unless you put the shifter into 1st gear to give you some room to pull the plastic dash piece back. |

I will second that, I had mine out last weekend. 1 screw at the bottom and pull the bottom out first. Although I will add that I usually shift into first gear to get the shifter out of the way. I think there are three wire bundles that you will probably want to unplug to give you a little more room to work. In fact I think I have pictures! lol Here
Red- screw holes for the head unit Blue- points where the panel clips to the dash Pink- 2 of the harnesses that connect to the back of the panel and are kind of in the way (there is a third I think but I dont have any better shots) Yellow- the hole for the 1 screw that holds the panel at the bottom Sorry the picture sucks but I figured it would at least give you a general idea. edit: oh yeah no ashtray in mine either lol |
