To use a Hi-Lift jack on a vehicle, there must be a solid jacking point. The Liberty's jacking points are under the body, so the Hi-Lift would be of no use.

Unless you got on some after market bumpers, or hitches

Nobody mentioned the size Hi-Lift. Aren't there like two or three sizes?

Look into the Daystar anti rattle rubber piece that holds the jack handle from rattling and opening up accidently. You will want the 48" jack so you can store it under your back seat. Also look into a Jack mate to go with the jack in case you need to use it for winching, or at least the chain kit Hi-lift sells, and make or buy the off road wide base to use your jack in the mud. Look in the fabrication area and make yourself the bracket so you can lift the rear end too. Whatever you do, be very careful when using a hi-lift. With your front end brackets, how are you going to hook onto your front end in case you need a tow? Maybe you'll want to drill a 5/8" hole horizontal so you can install a receiver shackle, if the square tube is 2", just my .02. Good luck.

Thats bogus. I used my Hi-Lift on my old KJ many times. You do need a bumper or BBs, but it can also be used as a hand winch and has multiple uses. Sayin its "useless" is not correct.

Ok Ijust thought of something - The base does come off, or I have to completely rethink
this. I do not have one to compare it to. KjHawaii edit

Thanks All - I want to end this thread and point it to the fabrication section under "Custom Bumper/Hitch/Brushguard/Hitch Winch/Hi Lift Jack"

I found a 4wd shop an hour away that will get me the Hi-Jack in 3 weeks.I ordered the 48" X-treme. Its charcoal metallic and should somewhat match my bumper.

The main member and possibly handle will be incorporated into my bumper. Im going to try to fabricate the "lift mate" for my wheels and put togather a minimized "hi-lift offroad kit" incorporating some long tow straps and some chain. Im passing completely on the electric winch since I probebly won't utilise it enough. And Im counting onthe hi-lifts abilities albiet more labor to get out (good for the soul). Im going for Efficienty Simplicity Practicality. Hope it works out.

Peace KjHawaii[/quote]
