Hey Ya'all:

I just got back from a 1300 mile trip through some pretty hot weather (100+). During this trip my passenger noticed condensation / water driping on his feet every so often. During one rest stop I checked under the hood for the condensate tube and found water dripping out just fine. I've never had this happen to me before. Should I take it into the stealership or is there something I should look for first?

Ken

Probably coming from the A/C footwell vent maybe....since you might have been running it on max cool it could have caused some condensate to develop on that inside vent...it happened to my parents old minivan when we would make trips down to Florida and back all the time...i don't think it is something to worry about....unless it starts to happen all the time now...

I am not sure what year your KJ is but for 2002 there is a TSB for this problem. TSB 24-003-05 FEB 05 A/C - Water Leaks Onto Passenger Carpet.

Thanks for the reply.
I should have added to the description what the settings were. I had the fan speed on 1, the venting on top and the temp all the way to cold. It seemed that the whole bottom side of the, for lack of a better term, air box was damp to the touch. I wasn't as though the water was coming from a specific area. It also started after about 2-3 hours on the road. I hope this helps.

If it was a really hot day...which considering the way the midwest all the way to the east coast has been lately I would venture to say it was...the combination of engine heat and ambient air temperature outside could have caused some of the dampness to occur perhaps...have you noticed it happening since your trip?

If so, there's the possibility of something going on, but in all the cars I can ever remember road tripping in as a kid (I would be up front so then mom could prop her leg up inbetween the front seats)....I always remembered some sort of condensate forming along the bottom of the passenger side dash during the road trips we would take...after we'd get home though it would be fine...I always thought it was from the condensor working hard b/c of heat all around...
