Post subject:  Hot Brakes Round II

This morning in stop and go traffic due to road construction.
The further I drove, the MORE pedal I had!
Untill after 3 miles, the All the brakes were dragging and the pedal had no play left. The whole thing stinked of burning fiber.

Back to the dealer.

Normally the pedal moves 2-2.5" before brakes engage. 1/2 way through the construction zone, the pedal, got higher and higher.

They just called and evidentally their is air being introduced into the breaks throught the booster?
Sounds fishy to me, but they are replacing the power booster. should get it back tomorrow

Wonder if I can get my $79 dollars back as the booster is what warperd the front rotors?

Go and explain to the mechanics that you are not satisfied with the labor and want a refund so you can pay another mechanic to fix it. If that doesn't work, check and see if they're a member of the BBB. You can file a complaint against them that has to be resolved for them to remain a member in good standing. You need to give them a chance to take care of things first though. Otherwise, get it fixed by another mechanic, and take them to small claims court with the info from the mechanic that fixed it. I would recommend getting some Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads. I've got the frozen ones up front. They made a huge difference in the stopping ability. I really needed some help with the drums in the rear on my '01.
