The bottom one is the diagnostic port, we all have them. The top one looks like someone had bars or running boards/steps on it in the past and left part of thebraket attached when they were removed.

the brackets on the side look like they are for a step rail. They bolt on, so they should be easy to remove.

Didn't the Renegade have removable Side Rails? You could add them to other KJ's...

That other "thing" does not look like something stock at all...Do you have to blow in a tube to start your KJ?  :D

Nah, it is just the camera adds 10lbs...

It is a port for a diagnostic device...

The brackets on each side of the liberty is for mounting a step bar, tube bar, etc... I just took my tubular mopar bars off the Jeep and those were the last things I removed.

You need a deep socket to get them off, size 15mm. Once you remove the nuts you will have to play "puzzle time" to get the u-bolt off. They are not individual bolts, rather a piece that snakes it way into the axle and back out the other end. Just like our famous front end tow hook bolt. I'm rambling on because I don't even know what they are called and I will shut up now
