I have a set of factory rock rails that I bought from ebay and when I went to install them today, I noticed that the holes lighn up with octagon shape holes on the frame. Do I need some kind of threaded studs to do the install? Please give me some info on this. Part numbers, pictures and what ever that you might have to help me to install these factory rock rails. Thanks fellow jeepers....... |

pn - 6507091aa its just called a fastener, parts dept. also calls it a nutzert. should be $2 / ea, whatever dealership you go to will more than likely have to order from detroit or milwaukee as it is a factory only part. anyway, good luck, if you need any help with the install, check out the link below, it gives good directions ( pdf file ) http://site.justforjeeps.com/guide/82208760.pdf |

You will really get tired putting all those nutzerts in place. Wear safety glasses because a lot of dirt will fall in your face. |

There are 8 nutzerts on each side to hold the 2 rail mounts up and 2 other bolts on each side that do not require nutzerts. You will have a total of ten bolts and 8 nutzerts plus two rail supports with a small piece of rubber for vibration isolation on the rail supports. This is for each rock rail. |

MAN NEED HELP! i got the nutzerts for the rock rails. I have been trying to figure out how the hell they stay in place. I see they are showing a longer bolt and an open nut. I am guessing that this is pulling the nutzert and collapsing it behind the frame. But Mine keeps turning and it stripps the hex shape. What do I do now? I am thinking of tack welding them in place. is this a good idea? |

You hold that wrench in that pic still and tighten the bottom bolt to crush the nutzert into place. Here it is in place.
Just another pic of the tool. That is just a sleeve where I had that wrench on it in the first pic, its not threaded onto the bolt. It keeps the nutzerk from turning while you tighten the bottom bolt.

great pisc man. I was having a problem with the nutzert turning on me. Well I did not have the tool, but I used the same tool that came with my light bar. I just could not get the damm thing to stop turnning on me. So thats when I called my friend and we took care of that problem. The rock rails are now secure tightly to the frame..... I was gonna take pics but it was too dark and we wanted to get done as soon as we could. |

Jeepjeepster; Yes. Now that thoes nutzerts are weldec in place, I was able to get them to collaps while I was thightning the bolts to the rock rails. It is fo freaking tight against the frame and you can not budge it at all. |

Does anyone have the part number for the nutzerk tool for installing the nut zerks, and the bolt and washer? I purchased a used set from an '05 renegade for my limited and now need the nut zerks, tool, bolt with washer. I stopped by Lithia today (our jeep dealer) and they looked at the same Mopar install page that I downloaded from justforjeeps.com and the parts guy said "mine come with hardware. Not a clue the parts numbers good luck". Any help would be great! |
