Hey.. Not sure if anyone has seen the new show on Sci Fi called Eureka.. But they have a KJ Police Car.. It looks like a dark Kwaki color... A KJ with a light bar on top looks pretty cool... Ben |

I amgoing to look into getting the Indiana State Police to try it out. As soon as I become a trooper. I go in for a polygraph on Tues and after that I am in the school. First chance I get I will push for making the Libby and the Charger the police vehicles of choice. |

We have Charger police cars here, they replaced Mustangs. I've seen a couple of CDOT (Colorado department of transportation) Liberties when I was out there working for them (Between Denver and Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70) last summer. They were White 02 Sports. |

Why would a police station want slow libbys as their cars? Its not like they can take a turn or anything? 0-60 in 10secs doesnt catch anything but a hummer. |

They would be great for a rural town like where i am from since most of the crap happens up in the mountains or i fit happens in town people revert to the mountains to get away. |

Apparently so far i seen 2 KJs are being used for mail delivery. Im not sure if owners have to use their own vehicles to deliver mail. This area is growing too fast. |

Here in Warren, Michigan they have a Liberty K9 unit. They also have a Fire/Rescue Liberty for Clinton Township, MI. The K9 Unit was on display at the 2004 Camp Jeep in Virgina. That is where I first saw it. Then I did some hunting when I returned home. |

With the exception of some special duty Mustangs and Camaros, there has not been a fast patrol made in over 20 years. The old-timers tell me that last decent cop cars were '77 Dodges and the last great ones were the Chevys and Dodges of aorund '70. The new Charger will be an exception as long as it is the hemi and not the base 3.5L. I have logged thousands of hours in model years '84-'05: LTD's, Grand Furys, Caprices, Crown Vics, every 4 dr patrol car sold. The last couple of years of Crown vics are getting better, but are still not fast and the rest suck. In rural areas, speed is probably more important than in the urban area I worked. It is the radio you cannot outrun. In the early '90's, we pursued Woody Harrelson's brother in a stolen 911, and caught him. ( He stole his defense attorney's Porsche in Columbus: poetic justice?) I think the KJ handles very well for a SUV. It would work for patrol duties except I would beconcerned about the LBJ issues with the abuse that most cruisers see daily. |

More often than chasing people down the road law enforcement officers are simply sitting by the side of the road or reporting to accidents etc. You see them all the time as you go by and realize you are going 10 over the limit. What do you do? Slow down to 5 over the limit |
