Jeepmed here. I'm in Port Charlotte. Have you checked out the Orlano Jeep Club?

Post subject:  hello jeepmed

yes sir...I joined the orlando jeep club last winter....been to a few meetings and on a few trail rides in ocala forest....they've been pretty cool and I will continue to participate with them....but they love the black water mud and they have the vehicles for it....I've followed 'em right on in...but when I finally get stuck (and I will) that's it for the carpet...

met a real nice KJ owner from up around leesburg....he posts here ocassionally....we poked around in the forest one day awhile back....he just traded his original KJ for the crd model so I don't think he's ready to pinstripe it in the scrub yet....we have each others nextel nos. but I haven't heard from him lately....

also joined the floridajeepers.net crowd for a night ride a few weeks ago....again, no one is rude but they're not really interested in the KJ thing and I don't really blame them....my 31 inch all terrains compared to their 36 inch swampers is bound to roll some eyes...although I did rescue an XJ that stayed in the water too long and strapped him all the way back to orlando at 2:00 am...about a forty or fifty mile tow....night ride

your signature indicates you have previous jeep owner experience so you probably have a little more swagger than I....two KJs in the trail line up would be a lot more fun for me....by the way, I know you were asking about tellico, north carolina...my wife and I took our liberty to the jeepjamboree there last fall and did fine with the traditional jeeps....there are some trail sections that are pretty hardcore that we never saw in our group....but there's plenty there to get excited about....the only problem is that it's so crowded....you spend a lot of time on the side of the trail waiting for traffic to clear....

thanks for the reply....maybe we'll meet on the trail one day....

Jon here, I live in Spring Hill, I have not met any other jeepers with new rigs who are willing to risk damage (myself included; I still have less than 3k on the odo) off-road. I've taken it on some powerline roads but thats about it. I used to have a '91 XJ with a lift and 31s and loved to raise hell in that but the KJ needs a little more of the new "worn off" before I tear it up. But,,, I would like to go on some local easy going trails with another KJ or two just to get out and learn where to go without getting shot at and/or tearing up my ride.

btw, I also notice eye-rolls from some people with more capable vehicles.

Sounds Great Steve. We are having a ride here next Sunday, but as you said lots of water and go. I'll proably ride with someone. I've been in that enough to now what it does to a Jeep. Fun But destructive. I've always preferred trails.
Thats why I'd like to try NC. How is Ocala for trails? Is there alot of mud?

Have y'all checked out GaLOST.org?
We haven't done any major trail rides yet, but want to get a KJ group together for rides througout Dixie.
We also have our own forum, http://1.mfbb.net/jbnmike.html
Our biggest stumbling block so far has been scheduling a ride/date everybody can make.
We'd like to hear from you!
