I have had my 05 Renegade for just over one week and I am looking for some help on my fisrt modifications.
I started checking around town yesterday for receiver info and I was told so many conflicting stories.
I am looking for a 2" hitch and the correct wiring set. The jeep dealer told me 180 for the receiver and 150 for the wiring packagae. I am also looking for a basket for the roof that will fit the round rails on the Renegade roof.
I am also thinking about a grill guard in the future.
I am just ready to add things to this Liberty...are window vents and stuff like that uncool for a jeep?
Any info on these items or others and where the best place to order them are is greatly appreciated.
I have three weeks to get ready for a 4 wheelin/hunting trip.

Check the jeep accessory catalog it's all there. Good price quoted on the hitch, harness seems a little out there, should be able to find something cheaper if you do the work yourself. My last wiring harness and plug was in the $40 dollar range and just plugged into the harness under the bumper.

Thanks, the wiring set that hooks the the rear tail lights were around $40, but I was told since I did not have the center roof insturment center that I had to run wires to the battery $120 or so. That did not seem right to me.

You can get all of that from jparts.com. Hitch, wiring, and vent visors. I love my in-channel vent visors. Got them from etrailer.com, but they stopped selling them. I believe everyone get a weathertech in-channel ventvisor now, but I do not like them. The mopar ones are stick on.

If you aren't going to need the brake controller but are just going to get the 4-pin connector for the harness you do not need to go to the battery. If you are going to install the brake controller then I believe you do need to go to the battery, but $120 to run the wires up there seems a bit excessive unless it is a factory harness that fits inside the panels and isn't just run under the body.

You should (at least mine did) have a pre-wired connector behind the cargo panel on the right (passenger side). You remove the rubber grommet that leads to the underside and the Mopar wire harness connects to the electrical connector, goes in through the hole and has it's own sealing grommet, then the harness has it's own plastic connectors that run underneath and attach it to the body all the way to the hitch. I think I paid about $60 or $70. It provided only a 4-pin connector.
