Help, my '06 with a 6spd is not playing well with the EPS. It bogs down my engine when I'm driving agressive and my wife & I hate it. I remember reading a HOWTO on either LOST or KJ Country about how to disable it on startup, yet use the button to turn it on at a later time, but I can't locate it now. Anyone familiar with this? Anyone else have the same problem with a 6spd & eps? Thanks.

Hmm, so is it putting on the brakes? Or does it actually cut off the gas to the engine? If its putting on the brakes, then just pull the fuse to abs. I hate it anyway.

The switch is on top of the steering column but somewhere there is a post (I think in the Diesel section) that Darby started, and also it is covered in the owners manual, about how that works. It kinda sorta works sometimes even if you turn it off.

I know some of it works even if you turn it off, but when we disable it on the steering column it works much better. I'm just trying to get it off every time with out pushing the button every time...

I don't think there is a way to have it default to the off ( partial mode )...maybe we could put a restrictor.............on your foot...lol

If both my wife & I didn't hate the EPS kick-in, I might try to not drive it like a firebird.... However, that was the reason for the 6spd in the first place (to use as much of the hp that the little 3.7 cranks out on the road). I plan on asking if the wires into the switch can be swapped....

If you cant figure something simple out you may be able to use a timer that is used for industrial controls. Might be hard to find one in the right voltage and it would take some creative wiring to get it to work. I havnt fiddled with them much but someone here may be able to help. I would post it in the electronics section. Just remember you are making your vehicle a little less safe in some situations.

So in other words about as safe as all ours with out that feature? I hate those little extra "safety" features they throw in. For some it can be more dangerous cause you ar enot used to having it and you would expect the vehicle to handle one way and it does the exact opposite. Be interesting though to see if you can figure out how to disable it.
