there are the pics. now would anyone be interested in buying a shelf of their own? If so do you think $100 would be a reasonable price. it might cost more with fiberglass reinforcements on the bottom and metal tubing for stronger support. but as you can see it looks like it came from the factory and the quality is very high. that's how it's done at the Pollack Garage!

Looks good! Nice and clean. You'll love having that shelf there. The only thing I'd recommend is maybe tie-down rings.

I know you've got that box box there, but would the shelf fit on the floor in the cargo area?

this weekend i am gonna be traveling and the subs must come out. when they do i will see if the shelf will fit on the floor. u must be cautious of the brackets coming out of the bottom though. there will be more pics when it is finished. i will keep you guys posted on the progress. and thanks again for the compliments. you're making me feel very good about this shelf becoming a hit on ebay.

I think if the shelf can be dropped to fit on the floor, it will be a big hit.It might need to be a little smaller than the cargo area and size that it is right now, but you could put a short lip around the edge of it to make sure things don't slide off the shelf.

I haven't looked into it much, but is there any way to make the brackets easily removable or folding? I wouldn't want to compromise the stability + strength of the shelf, but if there's some kind of bracket that could allow the shelf to sit down on the floor, that would be a major selling point. It'd be like the plastic cargo shelf that mopar sells, except it wouldn't cost $300 and look like crap. Maybe if the shelf brackets attach to the bottom of the shelf, but instead of going down, if they instead went up the side and out (kind of like making the shelf hang "below" the dowel and seat hooks, but it would still be supported from below. Brackets would still stick out, but they'd be to the sides and the shelf could lie flatter.

Not to be overly critical, but you did ask for suggestions and comments. I noticed a slight amount of sagging in the middle in the pic with the weights on it and I also noted that the majority of the weight was on the sides to minimize the sagging, presumably. I would suggest using something a bit more robust than OSB board, like normal plywood. That or if you go with the idea of the lip stated above, maybe look into using 1/2" aluminum angle for the lip to add strength to the length of the shelf. This will add to the cost, but would make a better overall product. Also, OSB isn't really known for screws holding their grip in, so through machine screws or bolts with nuts and washers might be the better way to go in the long run. Again, this is a cost vs. quality thing, so it may not be worth the added expense to make it profitable or desirable. Other than that, it's a very clean fabrication and install. Just my .02
