Gonna be changing out T-case, diffs, manual tranny fluid very soon. Is the tranny procedure as easy as "drain and refill".

Im fairly sure with a manual tranny, the fluid does not need to be changed for along time. The tcase and diffs should be done if they never have.

If you have the auto, ATF +4 only in the tranny. You can also use that in the tcase. Diffs, 80w90 if you do not tow, 75w-140 syn if you do.

I believe you need around 14 quarts for the transmission. I think Valvoline is the only aftermarket maker of the ATF+4 right now. The only other option is to get it from the dealer.

I do not think he is doing a full flush, id say hes only dropping the pan. Ive heard valvoline is selling ATF +4, but Ive not seen it anywhere yet. If you cannot find it anywhere, then the dealer is the only place. You will also need a gasket/filter kit. Ive not done this change yet, so idk if you can buy it at any auto parts store or if its a dealer only item. Should need around 4-5quarts for the tranny, someone should chime in and give the aprox amount.

Not to sure on the amount for the diffs. I used castrol syn b/c I could get it in a 5gallon bucket for cheap. Valvoline, castrol, amsoil, royal purple, all good brands. Remember the friction stuff if you have a limited slip!! I believe royal purple and amsoil already have it in it.

Don't use royal purple, they use Teflon in their oils, and it clogs stuff. Teflon doesn't adhere to anything until around 800*F...

Get some Amsoil, contact JJsKJ, he will get you all the info you need (and more)...Amsoil has a friction modifier that you need to add if you have and LSD. Also Amsoil beats the specifications for ATF+4.

I got my Valvoline ATF+4 from Advance, also saw some at NAPA. T-case is sloppy to fill because no way to tilt the bottle. Do your diffs first and save/reuse a squeeze bottle to refill the ATF+4 going into the t-case. In the diffs, I wanted synthetic and don't tow so went with a 75W90 in both.
