the reason that every body wants the optima yellow is for the "deep cycle" thing but in reality how often do you use your winch?
if your batt. meets the 650cca requirements then it wont be a problem unless you are running all kinds of other stuff that is drawing current as well
the only advantage is that after so many "pulls" with your winch a regular batt will stop charging up good but the optima will
on the other hand a deep cycle batt does not last as long as a starting batt for day to day use just look at the warrantys on the batts at walmart
a starting batt useualy will give like 3 years free replacement but a deep cycle is like a year
I would just go to walmart buy the biggest best battery they sell with like a 5 year free replace ment follow the "warranty instructions" and go with it they have no way of knowing what you were doing with that battery and will give you one for free
plus as a bouns if you are 1000 miles from home but only 2 miles from a walmart then BAM free batt if the one you got dies
