This weekend I decided to change up my 05 Renegade.. I put a K&N filter and got a Dynomax muffler as well as put Royal Purple 75-140 in the front and rear diffs.. I will definately say it was worth the money, I usually have to put it in 4low where it gets real steep in sand due to power loss, but now I have no issues in that area.. I almost got a cat back system but 2 things derailed that, so correct me if I am wrong but isnt it pointless to put a true 2.5 cat back on when the flange that the cat back system bolts up to is 2.25.. The other side of the deal is the factory tail pipe is mandrel bent so cutting it where it was still 2.5 and replacing the factory flange makes it a true 2.5 setup.. I choose the Dynomax cause it has great flow numbers but the sound is just a little bit louder than stock which is exactly what I wanted.. I will have some pics soon of the install so we will see what ya guys think but all in all it really made a drivability difference so if you want just a little more out of your ride I highly reccomend the changes.. |

It is the dynomax super turbo part " #WLK-17748 " I have put a few of these on before because they are a chamber style muffler but makes good flow numbers.. The straight threw muff like borla, magnaflow have a more distinct high pitch to them, but the dynomax keeps a mellow grunt to it which sounds good at idle and can just barley hear it at traveling speeds.. If I had to rate it I would say it to be a 2-3 out of 10 "stock being 0" and I would say a borla, flowmaster, magnaflow being more of a 5-6.. All in all it was $75 installed and today I will try to upload some pics so you can get an idea of how easy and nice it works and on top of that it looks like its stock still.. I also highly reccomend that if you cherish the automatic tranny then where the crossover pipe runs directly under the tranny oil pan, wrap that section of the pipe with some heat shielding header wrap so you dont get the heat soak.. I did all of this stuff at once and I can tell you that it drives much better on and off road.. In a week I should be going to the beach so when I do I will give yall the gas mileage feedback report.. |

Depending on the years, Im fairly sure they changed this. My 04 does not run under the tranny, but on some libbys it does. |

I can say that if it dosent cross under the tranny then more power to ya, but there are plenty more that do and wraping it will save the tranny in the long run.. |
