OK...I admit it. When I bought my KJ, I really didn't have any idea what I was buying. We were looking f or SUV's and this just happened to be the best one for the price and I also liked the look of the Libby. I have always have had a closet love thing for Jeeps and Toyota Pickups (Remember Micheal J Fox's in the end of "Back to the Future"?) But never got the chance to own either.

So people here talk about ESP's, Lockers, Axel types and so on. How do you tell? I know the easy stuff. Just would start to really get to knowing all about my KJ. THanks.

Goto the Jeep website and under hte owners section, you can enter the last 8 digits of your VIN, and in a day or two, they will send you an build sheet to your email.

Only 2006 libbys have esp, no libby has a locker stock, you have the 8.25 rear axle and dana30a front. Anything else?

Like Guyute1210 said, get a build sheet.

The dealer is an easy place to get a build sheet too. Give them your VIN and they will print one out in 5 min or less! :)

What if you are not the original owner? I'm 2nd owner on my '03. Also, where do you enter the VIN segment? Is it in the recall area or somewhere else? Would I need to register my info with them (e-mail address and such) before I could do this?

Its still the same Vin number. They do not care who owns it.

I understand that, I guess what I was wondering was if you input e-mail info somewhere during the request process so the build information would get to the proper person.

You beat me to it. I just looked it up. I did the same as you but went to customer assistance asked for a build sheet and filled in info. Hopefully it works.
