For the power supply, Should I buy a circuit breaker (20 amp) or are there provisions already there for for this? I have not bought a controller yet but plan on buying a Tekonsha prodogy and it requires a circuit breaker or fuse for the power supply. My 04 sport is did not come with a tow package..Thanks. |

Yes you need to buy the circuit breaker. I put mine up by the battery. |

On my CRD I put it on the mounting screw for a wiring bundle on the drivers side firewall up under the windshield. Well protected and saved drilling holes. |

When I've had brake controllers professionally installed they've used separate 40 amp circuit breakers on the battery line. Never had a problem with them and I've also since made several similar installations myself. All were for big trailers. Your total current drain might be less, but I know these work. Also, when a fuse goes, you'll need to replace it before your brakes will work |
