are these mopar hooks?? Mine went in super fast. You need to order 'm' bolts from the dealer if they are and you didn't get them. |

Don't have a part number but check this out http://site.justforjeeps.com/guide/82206124.pdf This should give you an idea. Maybe run it down to the dealer. |

Home Depot has a pretty wide selection of bolts, see if maybe they have it. Try a different dealer!! Ask the guys at the dealer your dealing with if they can install it for u, when they say yes, then u say well a$$hole sell me the bolts u are gonna use!!! |

I don't think Home depot has anything like that. I thought I heard of someone here getting them from a dealer. You could make some sort of bending platform (plywood or steel). Then take some threaded rod, heat it and bend it in the 'm' pattern. Just an idea, I am not a metal worker and don't have any idea if it would work or is safe. |

If you plan on getting stuck (ok, so no one plans on getting stuck, but if you think you might use them some day...), you don't want to skimp on these. Try another dealer. |

Not sure what you paid for your hooks but by the time you finish getting all the parts from the dealer, junk yard or whatever, wouldn't it have been better, safer and about as cheap to just install a receiver hitch on thefront? Though you have to remove the front bumper to put it on, i've heard (on this forum) that this is a better set up then hooks. |

You need two blind nuts from NAPA, with bolts, than you will need four think washers, or steel blocks about 1/4 to 3/8 thick that are drilled for 1/2 bolts (I think). The steel blocks will not allow the bolts to pull thru the sheet metal unibody. Grade 8 bolts and nuts lock washers. That should work. Al |

I ordered a set of the M Bolts in May from jparts.com : Savage 61 Dodge, 4645 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA. 19605 610-916-6100 1-800-527-5411 Maybe they aren't generally available. I don't see them NOW at their site. I would recommend you call them and ask about them. Before they all of a sudden had them, it had always been the case that they were not available separately from the tow hooks. At that time, the set was $24 + shipping. I'm sure someone here posted about it at the time, and that's how I learned about it. |

In my experience, it was cost-prohibitive to buy used hooks and then piece together all the mounting hardware. (Not to mention time consuming.) It would have cost about $140. I just ordered the new Mopar front hooks kit on eBay for $85. I did most of the installation myself, and had my 5-Star dealer finish the job for free. (They seemed to just want to quickly get me out of the way so they could work on more profitable jobs.) I tipped the mechanic $15 and was out the door in 30 minutes. |

If you used all thread rod to make those I hope you only want them for the looks. If you try to pull with them you will sheer off the all thread in nothing flat. It has no strength whatsoever. |

no no i bent the rods to make an M hook. i used mopar original tow hooks, i couldnt find the hardware to install them, so i had to improvise, and going on some advice from a local truck builder ( he builds and create some amasing mud boggers and some crawlers) i made the hardware myself... m bolt was bent out of threaded stock and the other bolt for the dingle side was all grade 8 hardware... |
