Post subject:  Watching my tongue (in cheek that is)

I'd like to apologize to the members at large. Evidently my previous "kidding around" post about the recall letter was taken too seriously (IMO) by some members here and was deleted. I apologize if it seemed to be taken as anything other than the joke that it was intended as. However, I am a little perturbed by the paranoid attitude evidenced on the board because "DC may be watching".

For the general info of all here was my response to the PMs I received.

PM:
Quote:
The L.O.S.T. group has worked very hard through the years to attract and keep the attention of Jeep and work with them on issues behind the scene such as the LBJ. Jeep and the dealers follow our forum and the last thing we need is to do as you suggested ( even though you qualified your statement as tongue in cheek ) . Jeep has finally done the right thing with the total recall, because of the efforts of you and all the members of this forum we were sucessful along with the hard work of a few people that the members do'nt know about. We have won that battle and must maintain the high road here.

I hope you understand our position.

Thanks

Actually, I don't. But as a mod you have the right to delete posts as you see fit.
I already received a pm from another member and here was my response:

My response to the first PM:

Re: PDF File & LBJs recall...

Can you say "Tongue-In Cheek"?!?!

C'mon, with all the things we've said about DC and all the cr@p about the LBJs and the recall, the bottom line is, we are supporting thier product. They know this and it's obvious the post was meant as a joke. First of all, you need the postcard, the dlr has to have it in his computer, the letter wouldn't be on DC paper/form, etc.

I'm not about to start censoring what I write because "Big Brother" may be watching. I work for DHS & just about everything I do on a computer is monitored. I highly doubt anyone from DC even checks this board anything but very rarely because if they did, we certainly would have gotten different results with the whole LBJ thing.

I understand what you are saying but I think you are being overly paranoid.

Thanks for the PM & don't take anything I said as criticism toward you. We just have different opinions on the issue.

See ya on the boards!
Chris

Remainder of my response:

Everything I said in my first response still stands but as I said, it's your right to delete such posts as you see fit. I'm just sorry that this board has turned from "freedom to have a laugh" to "look out, DC might be looking at the board and god knows we don't want to offend them".

I guess working for Homeland Security and spending every day defending the various freedoms that we work hard for, I find it hard to swallow censorship of any kind. Just my opinion and as I've already stated, I respect yours.

So, my opinion has been stated, the post has been deleted, and hopefully no hard feelings anywhere.
Chris

I'd jump in on this topic, but I think I'd get my $30 mailed back to me and my account closed  (if you not on the lifetime board - never mind; if you are, you know where I stand).

I was amazed that the Jeep dealer (the top sales rep, sales manager, and owner) never had heard of LOST, but thought it was good. Not that they ever plan on visiting - too busy selling cars...

Opinions are exactly that OPINIONS, they're never completely fact and everyone is entitled to their own. What is that old saying, "Opinions are like @$#%s, everybody has one"

You would be surprised even more, an example is this site:
http://www.turbodieselregister.com/ that has been around a long time, check the stats on that link. Very few Dodge Dealers even know about it. A few minutes ago there were over 500 of us online there.

"Y'all"? You must be from southern Ohio!

I am from the less populated east and very RED side of the state or I would not suffer from such evil thoughts!
