I'm getting the front driver and passenger side windows tinted tomorrow. Just wondering what percentage others have gone with. I'm thinking 30%. Is the stock tint 35%? |

Don't know what the factory tint is, but i went with 35% front, 30% rear/back with no window strip in the front. I'll take some pics with my phone at lunch time and post them. The one thing that I didn't like, was the way it turned out around the edges on the cargo area window, where the dot matrix pattern is. Its easier to see than explain, but its basically like there is a ring where the dot pattern is that's different than the rest of the tinted area. I was able to find a couple other KJs that were tinted (most vehicles are down here), and they all looked the same as mine. On the good side, i don't need the A/C turned up as high when driving. |

The tint shop can usually tell you what is best. I actually tinted the front a little darker than the back because with all of the sunlight through the windshield it evens the effect out. |

Thats what I did. When I got it done, I told them to match it to the rear. They said they will go alittle darker since the windshield lets light in. Looks perfect. Be sure to check you state laws about tint!! |

That's odd, originally i wanted it tinted the same all the way around. It was the tint shop that told me it was better to go slightly lighter in the front. Not that you can really tell the difference with only a 5% difference. |

i have 35% on the front sides, with limo tint over the factory tint for the entire back end of the kj. its super dark, and you cant see in at night at all. during the day you can see in the front sides, but you still cant see in the back. i love it. |

Most state laws won't let you go lower than 35% on front passenger windows. I did my own with 20% and they match the factory tint perfectly from the outside and look slightly darker from the inside. |

Will 35 look goofy or will it be pretty close to what's on there now? Thanks again |

My windows were never tinted, just had stock tint but on my moms RX-8 She has 35% all the way around. I personally would have gonna a lil darker but 30-35% offer a slight reflection it looks really good in the daylight and slightly hard to see in, but at night you can not see in at all. looking out is slightly darker but nothing you should worry about. |
