Post subject:  Lift help?

ok it's been about a year since i bought my KJ...and i really want
to lift it and put some better tires on it. i'd like to get this done before
winter but not sure if i should ask a dealer / local auto shop / or try to
get someone to help me put it on? does anyone know of any "Lift" friendly
dealers in the Chicagoland area? I can do some minor work on the lib....but
really have no idea when it comes to lifts.

suggestions/help?

Hey kjjames,

From what I've heard, Schaumburg Jeep is supposed to be extremely lift friendly.

I'm in the same boat, as I will be lifting the KJ before winter and putting new meats on it too. A buddy and myself will be doing the work though.

Hope this helps ya some!

I'd post in the LOST Midwest thread and see if you get some help. Usually all that's required in terms of payment is beer and pizza. :D

Post up in the midwest section and we'll do a lift party. I've done 2 frankenlifts and 1 rustys, and other guys in the area have done some as well.

We can do it at my house 7 miles west of Great America.

Oh, and welcome to the club!

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I thought I saw you in the area, pixeldzn! I'm always on 94 bouncing from Pleasant Prairie to Vernon Hills to Chicago etc etc etc. I've only seen yours and one other lifted KJ in the area, with mine soon to be only the third I've seen!

Take it easy.

In the northern parts of the area you have myself, BakerKJ and KJ-BOL. Further south and west you have FreeJeep, mattnmette and 05jeepKJ(?)

BakerKJ's has some remax decals on it and is black, mine is dark khaki, KJ-BOL has a light khaki renny, mattnmette a light khaki sport and FreeJeep has a red freedom ed. Can't remember the color of the last one.

Sweet, thanks for the heads-up! I'll be on the look-out for all you guys! There's a lifted silver sport that works in Waukegan also. I used to see that one when I had to visit our office in North Chicago.
