I'm doing some research on which shocks to use with the Daystar 2.5" lift. I found the DT-8000 shocks. A lot of people seem to like the DT-3000s, though. Looking at the DT website, it looks like you get a lot more in the 8000. Here are the features as listed on their site: DT3000 SERIES = $40.77 * Twin Tube * Large 1 3/8" Piston * Limited Lifetime warranty * Cellular closed cell foam * Double wall Construction * Double welded for added strength * Baked enamel finish or high-tech chrome plating DT8000 - PRERUNNER = $47.50 * High velocity, speed sensitive valving * Massive 1 5/8"Piston Assembly * Large 11/16" chrome shaft * Teflon wiper seal * Bump stop * Double welded * Urethane bushings * Twin Tube * Added oil capacity * Cellular gas * Limited Lifetime warranty Looks like you get speed-sensitive valving, larger piston, more oil, and a compression bump stop for less than $7 per shock. Seems like a great deal - does anyone have any experience with these? I was wondering which shocks you are upgrading to? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Most upgrade to the Rancho 17004. Trail test many times and proven to last. 20 dollars more but get what you pay for. |

I've only seen negative reports on DT shocks, and only positive reports on Ranchos. (My Ranchos are working great--I upgraded from some nasty Pro-Comps.) Check out my KJ Links and Parts site (URL below) for some price options on the Rancho 17004s. |
