I need some help with picking out some new wheels. I want to achieve a wider looking stance, so that the tires are either flush with the fender flares or poke out an inch or less. I found some wheelse that have the following specifications. Size 18x7.5 Inch PCD/Bolt Patterns 5 x 114.3mm or 5x4.5 OFFSET/ET +35mm Finish Chrome I know that the stockers are 16x7's with 5.5 back spacing right? And my understanding is if I go down in back spacing like to a 5, or 4.5, it stick out that much further. However, what throws me is the offset... If I got it all wrong, please feel free to correct me, I want to make sure I pick out the right wheels. |

I'm not going to be "Jeepin" my jeep, it's just for an everyday car. So my intent is to just make it look pimp with with an 18" rim that makes the tires flush or just barely stick out from the fender flares, and of course the lift. If I'm not going to be jeeping it, do you think I should save the extra money and go with one of the "reccomended" spacer lifts? I like the way it rides now, and would like to maintain that but I want to level the way it sits and fit some nice looking wheels under it.

I really want to know what the offset means? I didnt even see anything about the offset when I bought my cragers? Edit: Found it.

Offset doesnt mean anything useful when buying rims.. The only thing you really need to know is if its negative or postive, but still that wouldnt really matter. Back spacing is all you need to know.

off set is the distance from center. an 8" rim is 9" total width from edge to edge, -0- offset would be a 4.5" backspace. a 7" rim -0- offset would be 4.0". So a Moab wheel 16x8 w/ 5.0" backspace would be a -0.5" (-12mm).. |

So can anyone answer my original question? What back spacing do I need to acheive the "flush with flare" look, or an inch out from the flare edge? I don't like how the stock wheels sit inside the flare, looks much nicer if it's flush or has that aggressive outer stance. Thanks. |

I am looking at Nitto dune grapplers 265/50R20 which are only 30.47 inches tall with kmc wheels shown here.

Measure how much further you want your tires to stick out. Then subtract that from the offset of the wheels you have now. So if you want your tires to stick out 1" more and your stock backspacing is 5.5" then 5.5-1= 4.5" So you would need a rim of the same width as stock but with 4.5" backspacing. "Now if you have a 7" rim and an 8" rim with the same offset then the 8" rim is going to stick out 1" more than the 7". Also make sure if you do get a wider rim that you get tires that are made to fit that width. |

Those are pimp! Not practical for the snow and what not around here, but if you live in one of the sunny regions those things would look slick on a silver, white or black jeep!!! I'm looking at the KMC Hoss wheels with Nitto Terra grappler's, 18", 30-31" overall. The black model, do a google search, I can't post up pictures for some reason

Those Nittos would look awesome on some Rockstar rims too, although I'm not sure what sizing those are available in. |
