Well, Santa in the big brown truck showed up today and look what he brought.

Oh yeah, my Rock Lizard Fabrication Super Skink Sliders. These things are even heavier than I expected. I can start getting them prepped to go on, but I'll be lucky if I manage to get them on within the next two weeks. :x

That was really nice of the UPS man to bring you a new garage door!!! :P
Seriously, I hate you!

You'll have to take pics because those are exactly what I want. Thanks.

Yes, I've seen those things take some serious abuse. My Boulder Bars work equally as well, but I must say I really like the design of the Skinks.

My standard 05 and newer Skinks have worked great, kind of wished I had bought the Supers.

They look a lot more heavy duty than the pictures in Rock Lizards Fabrication web site. I’ve placed my order for them as well. Those things are sweet.

Oh yeah, these things are heavy. I dont think I'll be able to do anything to them. I still need to paint them since they are untreated though.

My standard skink sliders have saved my behind quite a few times now. My first time out with them I came down hard on a 1' diameter granite boulder and broke it (the boulder) in half. These things are stout.

That was the same thing I thought about the color, but that's what Rock Lizard has on his site. It's the toughness that matters.

Acutally, you can tell its the camera that is all messed up. Everything from the grass to the rails to the tree in the larger picture has a purple tint to it. By the way, TnRebel, great pic.

desertkj, you beat me to posting. Mine arrived last Tuesday but I haven't gotten a chance to install them yet. They do certainly feel sturdy weight wise!

However, I've gotta admit. I just finished looking at the directions and I feel slightly intimidated at this point. I'm definitely gonna read them a few more times to be sure I dont screw anything up.

desertkj, I've read them a couple of times now but I'm lucky enough to have two Jeep buddies in my family :) I'll let one of them drill the holes so I can blame them if they screw up

desertkj: Let me know if you want another set of hands for this install. I would like to help, as I am planning on getting these myself sometime in the next couple months.

I think that is a color palette problem, as in 256 color compression. The zero or invisible color, usually black, was replaced with purple so that part of the picture will actually show. Look at the grass too, there is some purple in the dark areas.
