Post subject:  Doors unlocking

Just a quick question. Are my doors supposed to unlock once the vehicle is shut off? They do not unlock. In order to open the rear doors I have to use the buttons on the remote. Anybody else have this annoying problem?

I believe the drivers door only unlocks once the car shuts off....sort of a safety feature not to have all the doors unlock once it is shut off in case someone is waiting to jump into your vehicle once you arrive wherever you are...that is my thought at least...i think there is some sort of programming you can do to change it if you have an EVIC but I'm not sure. Never really bothered me though...I just hit the switch in the Jeep when i get out if I really need to get into another door.

Yea, it could be a multitude of things, I know mine don't unlock (2006) but then again I don't have power locks either...so maybe they don't power unlock too...lol

Mine only did it after I installed my evic. I think the drivers door unlocked all the time but in order to have all the doors you need an evic. Or maybe the dealer can do it with some sort of gizmo?? :?

I know with my '04, once I turn the vehicle off, the doors only unlock when I pull the handle from the inside. Otherwise, I have to use the key fob to open the doors from the outside.

(500th post ... woo hoo  )
