Post subject:  Leaving battery disconnected overnight

I was doing some work so I left it disconnected from the negative post. Will there be any surprises in the morning? :?:

Shouldnt be. It may be alittle hard to start at first. Give give it alittle gas till it will idle if it does act up..

Edit: Oh yea.. The clock may flash..

I had mine disconnected overnight before, only thing was I had an aftermarket radio so all my saved settings on it were erased. Other than that no prob.

Thanks guys. Battery had some corrosion on it, but I decided not to clean them until next oil change.
I am installing new radio, and some cables are sticking out so I didn't want anything short-circuit.

Thanks again.

Glad to hear you're getting around to the install, hyedipin! I remember when you were looking for pics of aftermarket installs in the electronics forum. I just did my JVC KD-AVX2 install with the iPod adapter yesterday! I'll post pics soon. Make sure to post pics when you're finished!

...and now, back to the thread topic!

Don't touch the throttle when you first start it. A lot of vehicles recalibrate the throttle position sensor after a computer reset. If you are touching the throttle it may calibrate it with an incorrect value.

I don't remember touching throttle, I guess everything worked fine.
