Got an appointment on Thursday morning to have my ball joints replaced. I'll let you all know if I have problems with my dealer regarding my "larger tires" since 4-Wheeling is NOT popular in this area of New York. I'm just waiting for them to tell me that since I have larger tires (75s instead of 65s) they will not honor the recall since I did the damage myself by overloading the steering and suspension system...UGH! Maybe I'm just being paranoid...I'll keep you all posted though. |

They cannot do that. A recall is a recall. It doesnt work like warranty work. THEY MUST REPLACE THE BALL JOINTS!! Do not let then tell you other wise. |

just got my recall done yesterday, I had no probs at all and I have tires lift and al's upper arms. (thought they would at least say something, about al's arms or lift) and it only took an hour. |

Well, got the BJs replaced this morning. It only took 45 minutes, with no mention of my tires, thankfully! The service manager actually said my originals were perfect, which I figured would be the case since my Lib was built post-initial recall and already had the heat shield installed. I started questioning myself on the way home whether or not I should have just left good enough alone, since now I have new parts which might have been manufactured hastily with less quality control ever since the rush to get these parts out to satisfy the recall demand. Hmmm, I wonder if they'll replace them for free again if they fail on me. Oh well, so far, after 61,000+ miles I have had NO problems with the Jeep (knock on wood) and I love it! |

I was a happy man when I took mine in for the recall. I had 50k miles on them of which 25k miles was after the lift. But even after 25k lifted miles, mine were fine. I guess Rusty's lift is pretty ball joint friendly. |
