Ok, I have a Liberty, and my mom has a liberty. Both limiteds. On hers, the headlights cut on and off as she's driving. It doesn't do it on bumps or acceleration or braking in particular. There seems to be no trigger for it. but they go off, back on for a while, off on off for a bit, on for a long while, off on, etc....... Its doesn't do it all the time but it does it a lot!

I think I hear the relay clicking under the dash when they do. I've tried replacing the relay located in the panel next to the drivers door, but it didn't help.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how was it fixed!?!?! The dealer hooked it up to a machine and looked at the systems and found nothing for two hours!

Thanks!

Hello fellow Memphian....I have a similar problem going on right now, involving lights at least; whenever I have to use my lights my fog lights automatically come on, dash light and all, it's the second time I'll have to take it back to Gossett to be worked on, the first time happened the day I took it home. Not sure what to say except I think it might have something to do with the wires in the steering column to the actual handle on the column...that's what was wrong with mine the first time they said...Good luck with it all....

Post subject:  Yes, it's the MFS

I had this problem as well as the flickering dash lights. Replacing the multifunction switch fixed them both. It's a really easy thing to do yourself if you're so inclined. You can find the part online at any number of sites, usually somewhere between 50-80 bucks. For some reason the multifunction switch WITH fog light control is cheaper than the one without. That never made sense to me.

I also had the same thing happen, and replacing the multifunction switch is what fixed mine. :)
