Mounted up my Hella 500's but something is wrong with the kit. They show the switch with two connections but the one I got has three. I assume one is for ground, load and battery. The connectors provided wont even fit on them because the plastic covers are too thick. I wired them into the parking lights but not sure what to do now. I may bypass the darn relay and go direct like my last Jeep.

Geez, this should have been easy!

I had the same exact problem when installing mine. Their website has a different set of instructions:
http://www.hella.com/produktion/HellaPo ... st_450.pdf

Hope that helps.

One is for a ground to light up the little light in the switch..

Make sure you have it wired right.. Dont want to make alittle fire when you turn the switch on..

The switch that came with my hellas was labeled which was ground and everything.

Excellent!

Yea, I was shocked when I got to the switch. Everything else was clear enough.

Thanks

Mine was labeled too but like I said, the instructions showed only two posts. Besides, the thick plastic covers over the connectors would not allow me to put them on the swith together. As if they were the wrong parts or something.

Hopefully there wont be any fires

I just bent the outside bayonets 30degrees and the clips fit fine.

I never use the crap connectors that come with the kits, I use my own crimp on conenctors and Heat shrink over them. Its neater, not as thick and more secure. Outside the cab, I solder them too.

I also usually swap out the fuse holder that comes with the kit for a blade style one that matches the factory fuses, and with a rubber cover. A little dielectric grease on terminals helps alot too!

The clips will work if u bend the top and bottom contact up/down a little. They do push on. If u wire the switch wrong it will either always light (wrong) or only light when the switch is on.
