I purchased an EVIC from ebay (it has the pigtail) and I would like to make the harness to run down to the dash from the same guage and colors as the pigtail... any ideas where such wire can be purchased (and what guage it is?) Thank you! Cfish |

Your local hardware store should be able to have it for you. I want to say its 18ga wire but depending on your pigtail its possible its 22ga. |

I went to advance auto and bought a 4 wire 12ft harness. It doesn't matter the colors as long as you mark them. |

I bought 18 gauge wire black and red and just used different colored masking tape to mark them. Worked fine and was cheap. |

You can get bulk stranded wire at HomeDepot, etc and choose your own colors. |

I used standard jacketed phone line cable, the four condutor solid type, works great. The computer draws very little current and the data line is extremely low current, so a small guage wire is all you need. The added benefit is that it's all in one jacketed bundle and it's easy to route down through the column and under the dash. |

Yeah, that's exactly what I did... sort of. I cheaped out and used the same color wire for everything, taped it all together, and painted ground black. Every few inches, I marked which wire was which with masking tape. Doesn't matter how you do it as long as it works! |
