OK maybe I am being dumb (yeah, probably). I just want to make sure I am doing it right. The nutzert has OD of 1/2". So I drill a half in hole and pop it in?? It does have a hex part closer to the end that is larger than 1/2" but I thought the principle was like an anchor where you put a bolt/screw in and it the sleeve expands. These don't look like they expand. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

They should collapse/expand as you tighten down on them with a bolt while holding the nutzert. As for the size of the hole, I do not know. I know the All J rear rack instructions required a weird size hole just under the OD of the nutzert.

The nutzert goes into a hex shaped hole (the factory has them stamped into the 'frame')
When you insert the nutzert - it should go all the way in so the the hex section is in hole - you then insert the bolt which expands the end and keeps it in place.

I don't have a part #, mine came with the plates but I have an '06 so I didn't need it.

If you noticed in the picture a round zert is needed not a hex.
