Recently my trasfer case grinded a little bit going into 4hi. Now the Part time light is backwards. When it's not in 4x4 the light is on and when i'm in 4hi the part time light is off. Anyone else had this problem? 2005 Jeep liberty sport (automatic) gasoline. 3.7 engine. It's nice to see such a great forum also. |

I've not seen this myself, but it sounds like something is wrong with your linkage or the position switch, should be a warranty item, unless you have run it out already. there is a sensor on the top side of the transfer case, it is only about $70 at the dealer if it is out of warranty. |

about how long do you think it would take to change? Average mechanic we'll say. |

It would take an average mechanic about 10-15 minutes to change the sensor. Its about as easy as changing a spark plug. Also, the sensor does not effect the way it shifts in and out of 4wd at all. It merely senses the position of the lever. Thus you might want to look elsewhere like the linkage. |

the 4x4 still works. What makes you think it's a linkage problem? Just wondering. Also how do you like your frankenlift? also I don't play on doing any hardcore offroading but just a few trails here and there. would I need to get gears or anything? I have an auto and i didn't know how much stress it would put on the powertrain. |
