The other day I hit the switch to roll my window down at the bank and the window goes down all the way normal. But when it hit the bottom the motor/track started making a loud clicking. I quick hit the switch up and it stopped. I then tried to roll it up and it came back up withuot any problem or noise. Now when I try to roll it down it does not move and a cable starts to push out of the window seal on the inside of the door and the window won't move. Now it wont go down and every time I try the cable comes out to say hello. I already have an appointment set under warranty but if it's an easy fix I would rather save the $100 for the deductable. Anyone have this problem?

$100?

That's retarded. Warranty issues should be covered completely. You should just stroll up there, get it worked on, and go on with your life... if they're charging you for warranty work that's wrong.

The warranty in an upgaded warranty. I got the 7/100,000 on the powertrain but only 36000 on everything else. The upgade has the deductable.

Wow, powertrain only covers just that, the power train(engine, tranny, rear end, etc). Unless you have the extended bumper to bumper warranty, it will not be covered, even with a deductible. If you are over the regular 3yr/36k bumper to bumper warranty.

Sounds like its a bad window regulator. Haha, the cable comes out to say hello. Thats funny.

I called the service contractor for the warranty and they confimed that the deductable started for non power train items when the odometer hit 36,001 miles. I am glad I bought the extended deal. But that's ok because anything I cant fix for $100 myself I am taking it in to the dealer. We had a warranty of my wife's s-10 with no deductable till 60,000 and every time it made a weird sound I took it in. I know the day that the warranty expired they threw a party.

Finally pulled the door panel off and found that the tube that the actuator cable is supposed to ride it cracked. So when I would try to roll the window down the crack seperated and instead of the window going down the sheathe seperates and the cable goes up and out past the weather strip and says hello. It goes in on monday to get fixed. I was trying to save the $100 but I don't think I can find a reegulator assembly for that price.

You sure wont unless it's a junkyard piece. Most regulators are 150 and up. I don't remember how much the mopar pieces were cause I didn't see too many go out.

I just replaced my left rear window regulator last weekend. I got it at chryslerpartsdirect.com for $97.50 + freight.

It took more than a week to get here. It's not hard to do... 6 bolts, a jesus clip and electrical connector. But, your still out a $110.

Your better off to go the warranty route.

:(

Above is Exactly what my driver side front window did yesterday afternoon. I hate going to my local dealer for anything so I will see if I can find a price for it online. Anyone have a part number list for a 2003 showing the window parts? :?

about the warranty...
if your 36k warranty expired, yes, you have to pay for the deductible no matter what - the $ 100 is exactly what I paid to have my front diff replaced completely....

I dropped my kj by the dealer this morning for the same problem. Before heading out, I called to see how busy they were. The service manager said that they we not busy and my jeep would "get right in". Five minutes later I arrive at the dealer. To my surprise the place is packed. My guess is they will look her over this afternoon and then order the part. Which means I will get to pick up my broke KJ this evening. Ahh the pleasures of dealing with a five star dealer!

The KJ is back from the dealer!! Of course they called my home number even though I gave the manger my WORK number. naturally the part was not in stock, so I had to return to the dealer, and wait ten minutes for them to deliver my broke kj. At least I know they looked at my window. How do I know this you wonder??? The Three full size hand prints on the window gave me a clue  In their defense, it would have taken thirty seconds to clean the window.

Update:
I finally got around to pulling my door panel and found the Exact same condition described above. Looks like the part is going to cost me around $163 and is part number 55360031AM for driver side front door. :x :(

Forgot to tell you guys that it ended up costing me $106 dollars. It takes a huge set of %@*&!~ to charge tax on a deductable. But it is better than paying for the whole thing.
