I found this in another Jeep forum, theyre trying to get 250 people interested so B&M starts work on a short throw shifter for the 6 speed NSG370 tranny. http://www.rubiconownersforum.com/phpbb ... 328#441328 I know the 6 speeds are pretty rare but there are some of you on here with them, and like me you may think that the shifter throws are pretty darn long.

Looks nice, but if you don't want to register with the Rubi forum, just email rbcnljsrule-bmshifter@yahoo.com and tell him that you're interested and include your name and daytime phone number (he says it won't be sold, only used by their R&D staff - I guess they might call a few of us to verify the list)

If you are interested in getting a B&M Racing short throw shifter for your Wrangler or Liberty equipped with the NSG370 six speed manual transmission, I am gathering names and daytime phone numbers for list to be forward to B&M Racing.

Below is a link to a shifter for the '99-'04 Wrangler w/NV3550 five speed trans.

http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id=pr ... 15&pid=164

Instructions: http://www.bmracing.com/media/products/pdf/60.pdf

Per Steve of B&M Racing they need 250 individuals to state that they are interested in getting a shifter before the R&D department will start developing a shifter. No deposits, just your name and daytime number is required!

The information that you provide will not be forwarded, sold, traded, etc. to anyone, period!

This weekend I plan to post this in other Jeep forums, as well as giving the local Jeep clubs a heads up.

Please feel free to pass on my email to other interested jeepers that do not "troll" ROF.

I'm not convinced that there are 250 6-speed owners, let alone 250 that want to swap out their shifter. I would probably replace the shifter handle with something, but I have no gripes about the operation itself.

Thanks Moose - I went through the trouble of creating an account on that other forum, but just fired off an email to be sure.

Yeah, you may be right about getting 250 6speed KJ owners organized enough to sign this. I dont have any problems with mine either, but that doesnt necessarily mean a good thing couldnt be improved upon.

And it WOULD be nice to hear from any 5 speed drivers who are running a short shift kit, how you like it, ect.

Has anyone changed their shifter knob? I'd like to change mine as well. It seems like the big rubber shifter handle might be difficult to get off...

I changed my shifter knob to a carbon fiber aircraft grip stick. The trigger controls the horn and the push to talk button controls the light bar.

As for a short shifter, does anyone make one for the 5sp? Or would the 6sp short shifter work for the 5sp?

Stephen

I'm 99.99% sure the 5-speed shifter will not work with a 6-speed transmission.

That's hilarious! I for one have to see pictures of that!

How was the wiring for all that? Sounds like a pain!
