hey guys I have a noise coming from my front suspension and I can't tell whether its the sway bar , the struts, or the god forsaken ball joints!! I had the ball joint recall done around 2 months ago. I usually hear the noise on speed bumps and deep dips. I bought my car from carmax and the extended warranty but it cost $50 for anything done to it so i'm kinda trying to avoid taking it in, if its something i can fix. But i'd rather pay the money instead of wrecking my Jeep. |

hhhmmm...I noticed mine right after the LBJ recall job too. I was told to lube up the sway bar bushings. I did and heard it for about 2 weeks after I lubbed it but know haven't heard the noise. Maybe it took that long for the spray to get into the bushings... does it sound like a crunching, bottoming out kind of sound? |

I hear the same noise when going over speed bumps ei. i had never heard it befor i had the recall done on my lower balljoints, My jeep has 59k on it and my bumper to bumper warranty runs out at 60k, so i am going to take it to the dealeship and get them to look at it and replace or fix what ever it is, and while their at it they can check the rest the vehicle and fix anything else that is wrong before warranty runs out. I bught this kj used with 28k on it and the amunt of things that have been replaced alittle weird,i got a print out from jeep which shows all the wor that has been done and i was surprised. they replaced a strut, power steering pump, rack and pinion, ball joints and a few other things. hopefully all the"quarks" are out of it before my warranty runs out.( i have powertrain until 160k which is nice), |

Hey....I got a good idea....you could always just take your front swaybar off and leave it off. What...............did I say something wrong? |

I thought about that, but how much would it effect the drivability?? |

Yeah, please nots not get started on that again.. Leave the front swaybar in place. For the time being - hit everything with some spray lube (like lithium grease) and the noise should go away. If it doesn't report back here and we will go from there. |

Where I work this is a very common problem. And not just the KJs. The Caravan is very notorious for these noises. We usually find that most of the noises come from where the bar sits in the saddels not so much at the end of the link. The best cure is to remove the saddels and rubbers and literaly pack them with Sealglide(not sure spelled correctly). this stuff fills any voids and lubes rubber and poly very well. |

I want some that isnt petroleum.. Mobil makes some, and Amsoil does too I think. Heres the first link I found http://www.ttstuff.com/Merchant2/mercha ... liate=FRGL I would go with this one if you want to use amsoil https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/Searc ... egoryID=65 Maybe JJ can recommend something better? |

I am having similar noise problems. It seems to go away when it rains out. Mine started after adding the Rusty 1/2 inch strut plate and doing a generous clevis. I've had the LBJ recall for several months. I replaced the uppers with Jeepin Al A Arms. I still have the noise. I lubed everything I can think of and even took off the sway bar. Still had the noise aftr driving around the block so I put the sway bar back on. For now I am just ignoring it. |
