Hey guys, I am looking into the future planning and was wondering about how much it would cost to install these two bad boys and where would you usually take your jeep to to get this installed? |

There's a shop here 'Austin Drivetrain' that specializes in transmissions and differentials. To install front and rear Truetracs they quoted - 125 for the rear 375 for the front (they didn't know it had a lift - that takes longer). I ended up doing it myself - and had several points where I really wondering what I was thinking when I decided to do it - but it ended up okay, it just took longer than expected. |

I would look for a "4X4 shop" that does work like that on a day to day basis they will know how it should work and will also know what it takes to install them I had a local "4X4 shop" do my ARB and when the hose that goes into the "lolly pop" cracked he admited fault and fixed it on a saturday for free and alos showed me the process so if I have trouble on the trail I could get it back running |

Yeah, the front is a pain, at several points I pondered if I had more money than time. |

The cost of labor is going to be different depending on where people live, but here I paid $600-$700 for the diff work. This assumes that you install the air compressor, switches, and airline yourself. I wouldn't go anywhere other than an experienced gear/axle shop for this type of thing. We have tons of good 4x4 shops here which are great for lifts, but I got the impression they didn't know a thing about the Liberty. When I called a mom and pop type gear place I could tell he knew what he was talking about and he quoted the best price. BTW, I had already done some diff work when I installed my Auburn LSD and I knew I was going to pay to have this done. It is doable, but it was just not a fun experience. |

Have you considered a Power Trax No Slip for the rear, very simplistic and easy to install with full instructions, in an hour and a half taking your time. It takes 2 sets of hands at times, so have a buddy on standby. |
