I know this has been ask to death, but the biggest stock tire you can run without a lift is a 245/70-16, is this correct? I wanna do a lift, but it leased, we are gonna buy it out. Untill then, I want to watch the mods. I do need some better tires, I want bfg's, the biggest I can run without a lift, "Thanks".

Why are you holding off on mods until the buy out? I'm just curious... If you're going to buy it out anyway, then it shouldn't make much of a difference, right? We're lifting our leased KJ pretty soon, and I'll be modding my leased JK pretty soon-my salesman/dealership actually encourages it because modded jeeps boost sales.

Because something may go wrong that pervents me from buying it, also there's still some mods I need to the ranger and it was here first and the cosworth D power kit for the focus. However, It has to have some tires, those stock ones suck. I'm sure I won't wait to buy it before I lift it, thats my excuse for now, it's more the money and where it's budgeted. As it stands I have 3 toys and I'm looking to get a YJ this summer when we refinance. Still, I have to show some concideration to the wife and some of her wants as well. Why am I telling my life story here, will 245/70-16's fit stock, or is that still to big?

245/70R16 will fit stock. I have that size on my 2003 sport. If you are looking at BFG ATs, I'd suggest looking into the General Grabber AT2. A bunch of people have them here on the board, and they have a remarkably similar tread design (width, depth, pattern) to the BFGs but at a fraction of the cost.

Thanks CTjeeper16, thats what I needed to know. I'm loyal to products, when I find something I really like, I stick with it. However, I would be open to a cheaper tire since I'll be changing again when I left it, but my buddy has 4 pretty new bfg ko's 245/70-16's he bought for his ranger. He cranked the torsion bars and bought traxus 265/75-16 mud tires, said I could have his 245 bfg's if they fit. So I guess I'll be picking them up this weekend. Thanks again for your help and advice, if it wasn't for free bfg's, Ild sure concider a cheaper tire for now, these stock tires are terrible. I wouldn't put those things on a pinto ha ha.

And they have a 60K mile warranty I think. Are there any other AT's that have a warranty?
