Ok... So I live in the Buckeye area. Well, Saturday rolled around and my fiance and her friend decide they want to go out to the White Tanks (about 2 miles from our house) and ride around a bit in the Jeep.
Now I've been back there many times and although I only have a 2wd un-modified KJ I know that she can handle quite a bit that's back there from experience.
So we get going and start taking on some of the little trails that I know. Everything is moving pretty smooth and everyone is having a good time until I get to this incline that is just solid granite and I pretty much said we were as far as we were getting and needed to head back.
The downside was that there was no place to turn around at all so the only thing I could do was cruise backwards until I came to a point that I could flip around. Also just as a couple of side notes... I had none of my usual gear (recovery strap, hi-lift, etc.) with me which was very stupid on my part, but in any event just overall sucked.
Ok, so as I am backing up my tire ends up catching a large rock off to the side and starts slipping down the slope next to the trail (probably about 25 - 30 deg or so). By the time I could react to anything both passenger side tires were sitting down this slope and my driver side tires weren't too far from following. This was some very soft ground also.
Well we start trying to dig out and put rocks down and the KJ just seems to slip further and further down with every attempt to get her out of this situation. We finally come up with a plan to get out and the first attempt it didn't grab, but after a few rocks I was able to get off the slope and back on the trail. I still had to go backwards, but rode the higher end of the trail and endured the AZ pin-striping.

Once we were finally able to turn around we were good to go and headed on out without incident.
I have to thank my lovely fiance

for helping me keep my head on straight cause I was already planning the death of my KJ and anticipated coming out with a screw driver to get the license plate and aftermarket stereo from out of her. I also have to thank our good friend Bonnie

for helping to come up with the solution to our predicament.
Anyway... Thought I would share this little story with everyone.
