Post subject:  build sheet question

I requested the build sheet for my Liberty.

When I was looking over the build sheet It lists a bug guard. My window sticker does not list a bug guard.

Now my Liberty does not have this.

Since it is on my build sheet should this be included on my Liberty?

I have not had time to check with the dealer on this. I just wanted to see what you guys think.

Did u ask for any add ons or accessories? Sometimes the dlrs will take something off in order to give you something else you wanted. My dlr "deleted" my trl hitch wiring to give me the hard spare tire cover in order to "keep the price the same".
I finally told him the trlr hitch was useless w/o the wiring kit and that he had never stated that he was "removing" something in order to include the additional items I wanted for the price we agreed on.

If not, they may just have "forgotten" to install it when u took delivery. If it's on the build sheet, u paid for it.

someone over at kj country just got one because it was on his build sheet but not on the jeep, i think it took a little persuading though. just out of curiosity, do you have 4 small holes under the hood where it should mount, like it was removed? do dealer "mods" show up on a build sheet, cause I had the dealer ad cruise control and its not on my sheet.

Wow, there was a topic about this exact same issue over on KJCountry.com. Long story short, the consensus over there was the same - if DC says it was supposed to come with one then you get it. If the dealer didn't include it on then they eat the cost.

The dealership ordered the KJ from the factory that way. If YOU ordered it that way, you have a claim. Otherwise, you bought a Jeep with what came on it when YOU first saw it, not what the dealer paid to have on it. He could strip the tires and wheels off of it, and if you buy it that way it is yours. Buyer beware, or at least buyer be educated. A dealer may put one on to make you happy and to get a return customer, but he wouldn't have to.

On my 06, when I got home, I started reading the window sticker and it said I was supost to have a tire cover as part of the 65th aniv edition. Mine didn't have it, so called the dealer, they said "O yeah", stop by and get it and so I did. Missing items does happen.

Yea. but build sheet is different that window sticker. If a missing part was listed on some package, then yes, it should have been on the vehicle because that would have been on the window sticker. Basically, you get what is on the window sticker and anything else that is negotiated.

That's the simplest way of saying it!
