Post subject:  Lets Put the KJ on the map

OK guys it is no secret that I am very involved with organized wheelin
down here in south Louisiana we are having the Off-Roaders Expo in June
at current count I want to say that we have 4 or 5 clubs along with a load of people who just pass by and see the sign that day

I know in another post folks were complaining about the KJ not getting the respect in deserves
here is that chance
drive in from TX from FL from TN to come down and spend 2 days with every other kind of 4X4 out there
show them that the KJ is for real I dont want them to be right and if 10 or 15 KJ's show up to the Expo that would show them

I can help out with hotel's and camping ,if you dont mind the heat
for that matter drive in on Friday and we can go party in the French Quater friday night
because it is only about an hours drive from the Expo grounds

Come on guys lets do this!

This is something I may be very interested in doing, depending on my work schedule. That time of year is when my field starts to get very busy, but I do need a vacation badly and have never been to N'orleans. Keep us all posted and lets see what develops

yea i know it, there is no where to wheel around here, and ive been wanting to make a trip somewhere badly. but with work and school, things havent quite played out like i would have liked. but seeing as this would be during the summer i would be happy to do it.

do you think that i would get by with no skids and an open rear diff.? i plan to change these things in the near future but it may not happen before then.

no skids may be sketchy open diff would be fine I run my KJ open and I have no problems
I would at least get the fuel tank and the T-case skid

I just wanted to update this because things are realy starting to get moving

we are inviting other clubs to join us at this event
I know that LOST is not a club but if enough guys show up it could not only put the KJ but LOST as well on the map
these events are what people remember and if they can talk about those cool KJ's that were out there that would be huge

If any one wants to go please dont hesitate to contact me
we will be working with the tourisam association for hotel discounts
last year we got $50 a night

Hammond same area that you came out to that one time
only at this event you will get to run on better trails the ones you ran befor as well as 2-3 times that
and get to "test your skils" on the test track and ee what local vendors have to offer

I dont know what part af AL you are in but I would say to keep an eye on the board
we do a bunch more rides durring the year besides this one
we are riding tomarow in fact and we will have rides throughout the next few months
I do NOT post up every ride option for 2 reasons
1- some of them are "work days"
2- some of the trails are to much for a KJ that is not HIGHLY moded

More updates
we now have some "major" sponsors one of wich is superlift I also think we well get sponsorship from Interco tire again
and we are working on several others

we will be running some of the trails in a few weeks maybe towards the end of the month
it will be ride saturday camp ride sunday we ride at night on saturday
If I get people to go with there KJ's I will go with mine
These are not the "good" trails those are on city property and we can not get on them until we get permission
but they are still a chalenge in the past we have had a few roll overs and a bunch of broken parts
all of wich could have been avoided had the driver realized that that wrangler on 35's just had truble and hey are running 31's so even going 50mph is not going to help
