Posted this question awhile back but got no responses. Can anyone help?
When I try to play a video I get this:
Quote:
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest flash player.

If I click the link, it downloads Flash Player and then plays the little movie that says "If this movie plays, you have the latest version of Flash Player installed" Which seems to indicate everything is ok. But I still can't play vids! Help!!

another thing could be causing this problem is any type of firewall software that you may have running in the background. INCLUDING windoze XP firewall.
try closing out of your fire wall and give it a shot.
I had that problem a while ago. also I updated my flash player to 9.0 and updated my java console.

Oooooo... it sounds like you might have the same problem that I have at work. It's a problem with Permissions in Windows XP and Adobe Flash player.

Check the Adobe webforums for "install problems with Flash". If you can, log in as an Administrator, uninstall anything with flash in the add/remove programs, try to reinstall while an Administrator.

I still can't see any You Tube movies at work. My Admin permissions are a bit messed up.

Hmmm, I'll have to look into those.........

Funny thing is, on a very rare occasion it will play a vid. Hasn't happened for some time though. Now nothing plays except I can download vids from other sites like this forum and play them, just no You Tube or similar links.

I think that I found the answer, at least You Tube and all of the other Flash websites work now.

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=44&catid=184&threadid=1245905&enterthread=y#4490635

You have to uninstall macromedia flash, I physically deleted the folder in Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash also. Download the "Stand Alone" installer, close all web browsers and install.

It worked on my XP computer. I think that the problem is once the flash player is broken, you can't get it to install while IE7 or while any other flash related program is open.
