I know most people put the flowmaster 40series muffler, but i'm thinking about putting a Cherry Bomb muffler on mine. Do you think it would 1. fit and then 2. would sound alright???

here's a pic of one.

You need 2.5" inlet/outlet. Otherwise it will fit. It may be a little on the loud side though. I would look into the Flowmaster 40 or 50 series mufflers. $80 on summitracing.com

Also, that is a glasspack, which are illegal in many states. It should be noted that after a while the fiberglass mat inside the muffler will disintegrate and all you have is a straight tube with nothing to muffle the sound. Might sound ok, but I have yet to hear a 6 cylinder that sounded good with a glasspack.

Ok so I am in the market now for a new muffler, and was tossing around the odea of a cherry bomb. I thiink it would be pretty unique on a kj! :D It says the lenghts here.

So will this fit under the rig since ours is center in and offset out? and will the length work?[/img]

A good muffler shop should be able to get it to work fine but after the insides burn out I bet it wont sound all that great. I wonder if gone jeepin ever had his installed and if so how it is working out? shoot him a Pm about it.

True about the insides burning out, but how long does that really take till it happens? Just curious. Plus my neighbor actually is a pretty good welder so he will be more than willing to lend a hand for me. :D I hate paying shops when I can sit a pay with a case of cold ones and actually learn somethin in the process.

well heck, in that case, be OUR guinea pig and try it out, report back and LUK how it works out. A cherry bomb is pretty cheap and if you can get it done for some beer even better! You can always change it back out to another muffler later if it drives you nuts.
