Well I wasn't entirely sure where to post this so this seems as good an area as any...

I just got my National Geographic Topo maps of the Moab area in the mail and was looking at them planning a quick route from Moab to Canyonlands National Park through the scenic backways and whatnot. My main route was going to be 191 to 279 to Long Canyon Road..HOWEVER, Long Canyon Road is highlighted yellow, meaning a single direction trail by the maps key, but it doesn't list with an arrow, or any directional marker that I can see, which direction that one way is. My HOPE is that it is one way from 279 to 313 but my gut is telling me it isn't. Anyone know for sure about this road?

The junction of 279 and The Jug Handle is where Long Canyon Rd is, along this road is also Pucker Pass (sounds fun to me  ) to give you an idea of where i'm talking about.

Thanks in advance...

-Scott

I've driven that route from Moab to Canyonlands twice using Long Canyon as the cut through. As far as I know it is not one way. I have seen pictures of people going the other direction as well. I do not recall any markers of it being one way either.

It is definitely NOT a ONE Way..

It is just 'recommended' one way down because it is easier for the
people that are 'off-roading' for the very first time.. some in 2 WD vehicles.

It is an easy "BEAUTIFUL" trail either direction..
The view is much better going down, however..

(Jug Handle Arch & Hwy 279 are at the bottom of the canyon)
