How much would you estimate it would cost to paint or powdercoat a set of 5 wheels? |

Depends on the kind of sales going on at Wally World. Personally, I'd just go with flat Black wheels, and spray my wheels with black rustoleum or something like that. If you want a professional job (why bother-they're going to get rockrash anyway), I'd say probally about $200 for paint, and god knows how much for powder coating-it could be cheap, it could be quite a bit, depending on what color you want. Black is a stock color at pretty much any place that does powdercoating, so I'd hazard a guess at under $100? I could be WAAAAYYYY off, but that's what I would figure, since they could just throw them in with a bunch of other stuff. |

IMO...if you're guna see some rocks...get them PC'd. It will hold up waaay better than any automotive spray paint. |

I'd like to say that they're going to see rocks, but in reality they won't. I don't get to get off the road very often and when I do, we only have mud |

A gloss black powdercoat has a great shiny finish and is very strong. Paint is a little dull unless you clearcoat it. No matter what...if it were me I'd go with PC'ing them. Just looks much better and lasts a long time. |

You would have seen some rocks in Livingston KY! Check out the midwest group. Also, hello from a neighbor. Also, X2 or 3 whatever the powdercoat. |

Auggy, I know a place in cleveland that I have dealt with, they are called imperial metal solutions. The guy you will want to speak with is named Paul Libby. The number there is (216) 781-4094 their address is 2284 scranton road, Cleveland Ohio 44113. You can tell him that the designer named Mark who used to work at custom metal referred you. I used to use them to have steel powdercoated for resturant use, very nice guy, and he'll probably give you a great price, especially if you are going with black powder coating. They do a lot of motorcycle frames, and I remember seeing a set of wheels there when I was last there (over 3 years ago) I saw him the other week when I was at Custom doing some freelance design for them. Keep us posted, I'd be happy to hear that I was able to get s local LOST member hooked up. -Mark P.s. Hudson? I was just chillin at the caribou in the square before going to my guitarist's house in stow for band practice. (I also helped design some of the kitchen at downtown 140) |

Oh yeah, snowgod is probably accurate with the $100 figure, I would guess $100-$200 as long as you have the tires off the rims. You know of local wheeling spots? We need to have a NE ohio meet! |

Hey thanks for the replies everybody I'll definately check into that metal shop, thanks for the referral. Its so cool to see that people from this area are on the boards .. small world! I go to school at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson and have lived here for about 12 years. That caribou is a nice addition along with the rest of the new town square. My parents actually know the guy that founded downtown 140 (and the food is amazing) .. thats sweet that you helped design the kitchen |

Sweetness, if you were in the downtown around 5:00 you probably saw my libby parked next to the caribou. I have the GB stickers in the rear window. If you are into mountain biking, shoot me a PM when you go to cleveland, I go to http://www.raysmtb.com all the time. It's cool, even if you only ride a little. |

The clear coat on my OEM wheels just starting peeling off. They look terrible, I want a new set of wheels but I don’t want metal they will rust way to early with all the salt her. I was thinking of PC them but it does turn out about the same price for some metal Cragers. I WANT some aluminum wheels but those are not in my current budget. So I might go the poor man route and clean off the entire clear coat on my current OEM wheels and use some rust-oleum on them for now. |

Auggy, if you want the outside left silver, I know for a fact that it's going to be much more expensive to have them powdercoated. The company would have to mask them and any time they start handling the products the price is liable to skyrocket (couldn't say how much, but wanted to give you the heads up) -Mark |
