thanks in anticipation jon Call your local dealer and give them your VIN number. After doing some checking, they should be able to make sure your not a radio theif and give you the "Unlock Numbers".May have to make a trip to them, can't remember. Ron |

i've bought a handbook, but the radio bit was not included yours jon Hmmm, maybe try pressing the buttons twice to see if they give you a higher number? So say you've got buttons 1 thru 5, then pressing button 1 twice might be equal to 6, button 4 twice = 9, etc??? I'm just throwin' out a SWAG since I have no direct experience with this particular problem... |

I removed my stereo and plugged it back in a few hours later when I was done messing with the wiring harness but I never got a code on the display. What did you do to have that code appear? I'm not looking for any problems of my own just curious. |

i pulled a fuse, the wrong one i guess and then when i went to turn on the radio it showed CODE on the display. anyway, i did not have 9 or 7 in the code, i must be tired and was looking at some other four digit number i'd written down (for god only knows what...). so my code only had digits between 1 & 5, so now it works! thanks for the advice all jon (sweden, scandinavia) |

Glad to see you got it Jon.In our country,in the smaller suburban areas, people steel radios for resale to buy liquor and drugs. This design on stereos has shown some decrease in theft. If your the honest owner of the radio, you should'nt have any problem getting the code to unlock it.All stereos with theft lock built into them should go into "Locked Mode"once power is taken away. When I work on any vehicle with this radio feature, and or change batteries,I have to plug a power source into the ciggarette lighter plug to keep from locking the radio.Glad we could help. Most radios that have this feature will usually have the words "Theft Lock" somewhere displayed on the face of the radio,it's just hard at times to remember to look for it each time I pull various vehicles in daily. Ron |
