I have an 03 liby sport. My fan die and on disection, I noticed that the brushes were completely gone! Even the brass they were mounted on was worn completely off. I am guessing that running my liby in 3+ feet of muddy water must be the cuplrit. Fine mud apparently wears electric motors out very quiclky...The dealer(only place I could find a fan) wants $325 for a "fan module" That includes att the shroud and fan blade. I just need the less expensive Bosch motor that's inside. Anyone know where to find this fan motor only??? :?: :!: :?:

I'd start calling junk yards... any junk yard.

There was a post a while back, I think on jeepkj.com, that had a link to a pdf which had diagrams and part numbers for almost every part in the vehicle. This included parts that dealers would say could only be had in an assembly. So, I'm gonna go look for that post, if I cant find it, I saved the pdf at home and will post it tonight. Then you can just have them order the specific part number of the motor.

http://www.berrysprinter.com/05kj.PDF

Found it!! The navigation in this pdf doesnt work quite right. To get your model year, just replace the "05" in that link to whatever year you need and that should work.

I can't seem to find just the motor on that drawing however. But I think that you could get the part 55037691AA which seems to be the most specific part you can get to include the motor. I could be wrong though. Anyway, see for yourself on the pdf!! Good luck.

Hmm, I was once into the Dead... I found a used fan on ebay for $45. Looks like someone was parting out a kj. Lots of cool kj stuff up for sale on ebay right now if anyone is interested...Thanks for that link. I'm sure that will be handy in the future! :D
