I inquired about some light bar covers for my Renegade since the dealer never had them for me when i bought it. sqliberty said he had some that he wasn't using. He sent them to me and i offered to send him some money, Mind you.. I made numerous attempts to aquire his address to send him something. Below is what he wrote to me:

Quote:
Don't worry about it, I am just glad you could use them. At some point I may have just tossed them in the garbage since I would never use.

Just wanted to let people know.. hope he does not mind me doing this.. Just goes to show there are good people in this world.. especially within our "online community".

Thanks for the light bar covers.. they sure cut down on the windnoise at highway speed..

You will find quite a bit of that type of thing w/in the Jeeping community. There are many that will give their time and or their stuff to help.
I was recently PM'd on another forum by a local guy who noticed I lived nearby. He asked if I or someone I knew would be interested in a set of 5 Rubi Moab rims and MT/R's........ FOR FREE!! I had been recently shopping for a set for my XJ so of course I was interested and now they are in my garage. I offered some money and the guy refused it. I then offered him up an oil/filter change or gear oil or whatever Amsoil product he might be interested in and he remembered that he needed to change out his diff covers for some new, stronger ones he bought so he took me up on several quarts of gear lube and I threw in a bottle of fuel system cleaner too. The only other thing he asked of me was to lead him through a local trail. Of course I have no problem w/ that! :D

Boi1ermaker also gave me the hook up a while back w/ the air intake tube assy from his 2004 KJ. IIRC, I only paid shipping for the item. Regardless, It was a pretty cool hook up and I appreciated it a lot.

I will toot my own horn too and note that I recently sent skrracing a set of axle tube seals for free because he mentioned needing some for his ZJ. Clint has given tons of his time to this group both in person and through this forum so it was a no brainer in sending them to him for free when he mentioned needing them. It was the least I could do. (toot toot)

I have been thinking of starting up a "Karma" or "RAOK" (random act of kindness) thread on the forum to promote giving away things you have to others for free or maybe just shipping cost. So maybe think about it and see what you can afford to give away to help someone else out.

AAMOF, I have a rear tow hook that needs a new home and if no Moab attendees need it I will be offering it up to the general forum for shipping cost only or local pick up. (Moab atendees 1st because it is a required safety item for the trip)

Anyhow, Keep up the good Karma folks, it will come back to you. :D

Kugellager - Sent me a copy of the 4wd & Sport Utility issue that contained L.O.S.T. members, still in the plastic, for nothing. I offered to send something for the mag and shipping but he refused.

Articus - Sold me a very slightly used set of BFG KO's at an extremely great price. Had to drive 7+ hours round trip to get them, but was worth every minute.

I guess it's my turn now.

Good people!!!

I still have a rear view mirror (not auto dim), the black plastic sill guards for the front and if anybody needs them. I might have steering wheel trim and a couple of other small bits; I'll have to go back to my storage garage and what's still left.

RAOK section would be really neat to have. I want to thank John, Wally and Clint for helping my Jeep be so much more fun than it used to be. :D

When I was in Afghanistan

Rick(rackmei LOST Mid Atlantic) sent me care packages all the time back in 03 then this time for 06-07 he did the same for me. He didn't even know me back then and now we are good friends.

Jeepin AL sent me all the off road mags I could handle while I was in the stan this time. He even sent me a note to try and see I f I needed anything else a while back but alas I am home now.

I was also sent some golf balls and a driver while I was there and let me tell you....your generosity sure put a smile on some Soldiers and Airmens faces as one would drive the ball and another would try to shoot the ball out of the sky!
here is me golfing with body armor and a 9mm Baretta

And thanks for all the emails and Christmas cards people....not one person from my Honda club even sent an email!Image

Neatus...move your stance forward and keep your left arm straight on the backswing. that tee might be a bit high too :D that looks like one heck of a sand trap  Thank for your service!!!!! let us all know if/when you go back...i'm sure you will get plenty of goodies...God Bless, Bryan

I like the ROK idea

There are also a bit of guys on here in the service. Maybe we can have a section for them so they can post when they are shipping out and how to get stuff to them while they are out there helping us back here.

That is my Happy Gilmore shot. I am not in it for the goodies...it is the people. You guys and gals in the Jeep community are what will keep me a Jeep owner...the Jeep is just a perk. Great people = great times and great friendships.

We know you're not in it for the goodies. Some of my buds from college are in the services and They really like just getting a quick card from me and others. It helps them break up the days and still remember we all want them back here safe. A note, a cookie, of a golf club...I'm sure either would make ya smile a bit! Thats all we want to do.

I wasn't trying to sound rude...I just meant we like you all more that n the goodies and you are right anything you send a troop over there makes em happy. SO yeah...we love cookies!

OH, and the random act of kindness thread sounds like a sweet idea.

If anyone wants to come visit me I got a stock exhaust and some side steps up for grabs! You could use the exhaust for target practice and the steps to get your wife to stop telling you how it is hard for her to get into your rig.

If it wasn't for this forum, I'd have a 13" planer, and a 8" Jointer by now. Seriously, I've had such a great time with my Libby since I've found this forum. I bought it at the right price and it fit our needs at the time. I really had no idea what I'd bought until I found all of you. (insert teared up smiley here)

All the fast help and advice have a been a tremendous help. Thanks to all of you!
