Ok so the Liberty towing capacity is 5000 pounds. My buddy is building an eclipse race car. It has no tranny, and no engine in it. The trailer weights 1400 pounds.

I assume the liberty can do it no problem....we are going about 20 miles down the street.

Thoughts?>

It will be fine. Just take it slow and be sure to keep O/D turned off.

Does the trailer have brakes? Even if it doesnt, just be sure to take it nice and slow since its only 20miles. :)

I was thinking the towing cap.was 3500lbs on the gas libby?Either way I think you should be alright towing it,even if the car had a motor and tranny.I'm guessing the car does'nt weigh much more than 2000lbs,just be careful and take your time.
