Does anyone know of a good set of aftermarket lamps 4-5" in diameter, preferably waterproof? I need some for my bumper and have no clue where to start except by looking up PIAA's and HELLA's. Hella expensive if you ask me, though I would buy them in a heartbeat if I had the money. Especially the ones that use the inertia of the vehicle to turn the lamps around corners. Kinda gimmiky but so cool. Thanks! |

I have 4 Hella 500s (clear, driving) on my roof rack. I got both pair used for a grand total of $70 after buying some new wiring. They're way bright and I don't think I could beat them for the price, even if I did buy them brand new. I was going to go with some KC HiLite spot and/or flood lights, but a few friends told me not to bother wasting my money and just get Hellas. They're definitely one of the best "bang for the buck" items on my Jeep. I can't wait to get 100w bulbs and some 10 ga. wiring. If I were to get something other than the 500s, I'd stay in the Hella brand. I still want some spot lights and I'll probably end up getting 3 of their Rallye 3000 Cool Blue "Pencil Beams", and moving two of my 500s to my front bumper. Even their higher quality product lines aren't too expensive. I know KC lights are overpriced and PIAA lights seem way expensive, too. These are the only brand I'd go with other than Hella: http://www.lightforceusa.com/images/dlm ... ersion.pdf It seems like one pair would be the last lights you'd ever need to buy, especially if you get the 240 Blitz. |

I hate to be the dissenter, but my Piaa 520's are awesome. I got mine in amber (Super White are model 510, I believe) for foul weather driving which is pretty common around here in western New York. They may be a little more expensive than the Hella 500 but worth every dime. I've had them now for 8 years and they're still running strong on the original bulbs. |

I'm kinda attached to my KC HID's,pricy but worth every penny. You could run about 4 of them to equal the power drain from 1 Hella 500,and they will throw light about 1-2 miles out. |

Amazon has Hella 500s for $53.96 shipped: http://www.amazon.com/Hella-HLA-H137506 ... 128&sr=8-1 As far as I can tell, they do NOT come with stone shields. However, the stone shields are available separately for $5 apiece: http://www.amazon.com/Hella-HLA-1352360 ... 128&sr=8-1 Total cost is about $64 including shipping. |

I have PIAA 520s and love them. I don't know much about Hellas, but obviously they are good lights too. There are several really good lamps on the market and you just need to decide how much $ you want to spend. |

I know that when it comes time for me to get some lights, I'll be going with IPF 960's. I know they're mucho $$$ but I'm going to do it right the first time and I'll never have to replace them or be disappointed with them. |
