| Post subject: | Looking for Liberty pics with dash removed |
Long time browser, first time poster. I'm sitting in an airport bored out of my skull and thinking about my Jeep. I want a double din navigation system. The double din systems look more 'stock'. I don't want to go with the flip up screen, it blocks the air vents and it gets darn hot in the desert (plus I'm a little worried what the heat/cold would do to the LCD screen blowing directly on it). I've seen pics of a guy who dropped his A/C controls down and did some custom fiberglass work to make a new radio bezel. I like the idea, but I want to take it a step further.
What I'm thinking about doing, is to completely redo the center of the dash (radio bezel and the piece with the vents). I'd like to locate the navigation system where the vents are (the higher the better). Then I was planning on making/finding some shorter vents in a junkyard to fit in the area where the stock radio is. What I'm wondering is, if it is even possible to relocate the vents (I have no idea what it looks like behind the dash). Don't pull apart your dash for me, but if you have any pics (or links to pic) I would greatly appreciate them. Hroth |
