| Post subject: | Brake noise, clunking in steering and dealership bashing... |
Hey all... Haven't been around in a while but need some insight on a few problems I am experiencing... First of all is a serious groaning when applying the brakes... The noise doesn't happen when I am lightly applying the brakes only when there is enough force to load up the suspension... I took my KJ in this morning to the dealership and the jerkoff that went out on a test drive with me is trying to say it is normal noise... My KJ is just shy of a year old and nothing that sounds like that should be *normal*... The other issue is a light clunking in the steering... This I can feel rather than hear... It only seems to happen at fairly low speeds - creeping along really... It happens when I turn and when the wheel steers back... Of course the aforementioned jerkoff didn't even listen to me when he was behind the wheel during the test drive... He wouldn't steer slowly enough to feel the issue... He was just whipping around in circles.... I hate bringing my car to dealerships... It is so frustrating that I need to complain 3 or 4 times to get something resolved. Case in point... I had horrible wind noise from my passenger door... I must have heard 3 or 4 times "oh that's normal" until they finally adjusted the door and the noise is gone... Same thing for a suspension noise issue... I would drive over a speed bump very slowly and it seemed like the whole suspension would creak... Finally one of the service advisors recognized it as an issue in the sway bar linkage... I hate to get in the mindset that I want a different car but sometimes the hassle doesn't seem worth it... Any comments and/or suggestions are welcome... Thanks! |

I would look into taking it to a different dealership!!! The brake noise isn't normal, mine is an 03 and my brakes are silent. |

I had an issue with brake noise when the rig was new. They put on new rotors and pads, but it came back when it was cold and/or wet out. That was a year ago and they are now silent and have been for many months. Maybe it was a break in kind of thing. |
